The department foiled three drug smuggling attempts:
First Case – Jaber Border Crossing:
In coordination with Jordanian Customs and security agencies, authorities tracked an individual preparing to smuggle drugs stored inside a vehicle. The suspect was arrested while attempting to cross the border, and 80,000 pills hidden in a secret compartment of the vehicle were seized. The recipient of the drugs inside the country was later identified, raided, and arrested.
Second Case – Jaber Border Area:
A person attempting to smuggle 44,000 pills with the help of accomplices abroad was arrested after the drugs were intercepted, in cooperation with Customs and security authorities.
Third Case – Synthetic Cannabis via Mail:
Investigators monitored three individuals importing white papers infused with synthetic cannabis via postal parcels. One parcel was intercepted, and all three suspects were arrested in coordination with Customs and security forces.
Domestic Trafficking Cases:
Central Badia Region: Two drug trafficking cases were handled. In the first, four suspects with prior criminal records were caught cultivating and selling marijuana. Authorities seized large quantities of marijuana seedlings, ready-to-sell marijuana, and an automatic firearm. In the second case, a cocaine distributor was arrested with a quantity of cocaine in possession.
Al-Mafraq Governorate: A drug dealer’s home was raided; authorities found 20,000 pills hidden atop a tree.
Irbid Governorate: A drug distributor was arrested with 10 bundles of cannabis in his possession.
These operations reflect ongoing efforts by Jordanian authorities to combat drug trafficking and distribution throughout the country.
