Man jailed for 2021 killing of teacher in Clarendon escapes custody

A manhunt is underway for a man who is facing two murder charges after he escaped from a hospital while being treated.

The man is 25-year-old Marlo Headley from Palmer’s Cross in Clarendon.

Headley reportedly escaped from a hospital in the corporate area early Saturday morning. In a statement, the police say Headley was under quarantine at the hospital with a potentially contagious respiratory disorder.

Though the police statement does not state what condition Headley is being treated for, our sources say he was hospitalised for Tuberculosis.

The police say Headley is of brown complexion. He’s approximately five feet, 10 inches tall and has a tattoo on his right arm above the elbow.

He was last seen wearing brown shorts and was shirtless.

Headley was in lock-up after reportedly confessing to the murder of Natalie Dawkins, a teacher at the Four Paths Primary School, in April 2021.

Dawkins was reported missing on March 31, 2021.

Her decomposing body was found eight days later in Clarendon following searches by authorities and her family, friends and volunteers.

The police say at the time of their arrest, Dawkins and his co-accused Eladio Gouldbourne, were found in possession of Ms Dawkins’ debit card and thousands of dollars.

Another man, who was trying to sell Ms Dawkins’ car was killed in a confrontation with the police.

Headley, who was 19-years-old, when he was first detained, has since allegedly committed another murder, killing a detainee while in the custody of the state.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Headley is being asked to contact the Hunt’s Bay Police at (876) 923-7111, the police emergency number 119, or the nearest police station.

The police is also reminding the public that harbouring a fugitive is a criminal offence.
