Tajay Gayle and reigning men’s 100m World champion Oblique Seville were crowned Wanda Diamond League champions on Friday’s first day of the two day final in Brussels, Belgium.

Gayle who won the World title in 2019, logged a season best 8.46m on his final attempt to take the men’s Long Jump crown, the Diamond trophy and US $60,000.
Wayne Pinnock finished fifth with 7.94m and collected US $2,500.
Seville was an easy winner of the men’s 100m in 9.90 seconds, he too secured a Diamond trophy and US $60,000.
Two time World championship medallist Rushell Clayton clocked 53.85 seconds for fifth in the women’s 400m hurdles for which she will receive US $2,500.
Victory went to America’s Anna Cockrell in 53.01 seconds.
Daniel Thomas Dodd was sixth in the women’s Shot Put with 18.44m and collected US $2,000.
Orlando Bennett the World championship silver medallist was sixth in the 110m hurdles in 13.43 seconds, world record holder Ja’Kobe Tharp of the USA won in 13.03 seconds.
Eight more Jamaicans will be in action on Saturday’s final day of action.
