Finance Minister Accuses PNP of Flip-Flopping on Income Tax Threshold Promise

Finance Minister, Fayval Williams, is accusing the People’s National Party, PNP, of flip-flopping on their plan to fund the promised increase in the income tax threshold to $3.5 million.

Minister Williams says the latest announcement from the PNP to rely on adjustments in the primary surplus target, proves the promise was always fake.

The PNP had previously cited organic growth that would be generated in the economy as being sufficient to fund the promise.

Minister Williams, who is the JLP’s candidate for Eastern St. Andrew, says the PNP’s adjustment is consistent with a pattern of flip flopping on major policy issues.
