The week ahead will bring a mixed bag of weather, and nighttime temperatures are set to turn chillier as October comes to an end.
Today will be bright with some sunny spells, though there will be scattered showers and it will be breezy. Those showers will spread later on, with some turning heavy, particularly in the west and northwest.
Highest temperatures will range from 10 to 13C.
There will be scattered showers at first tonight, mainly in the west and northwest where they will continue to be heavy at times. Lowest temperature will be between three and 7C.
Conditions will be quite similar on Wednesday, when it will again be breezy with a mix of sunshine and scattered showers and highs of nine to 12C.

On Wednesday night, it will be dry for most but cloud will build up in the southwest, bringing rain to Munster counties heading towards morning. It will be a chilly night, with temperatures falling to between 0 and 5C.
Things will turn more unsettled on Thursday as rain spreads across the country. There will be strong winds, and heavy rain will make spot flooding likely.
It will continue to be windy on Thursday night. Rain will clear from the east and north, but there will be heavy showers in the west and northwest. Lowest temperatures will be between 4 and 7C.
There remains “uncertainty in the details” for Friday, Halloween, but at the moment it’s looking like a dry and bright morning before cloud builds up to bring outbreaks of rain in the east and south.
It will be drier in the west and northwest, with highs of 11 to 14C.
Met Éireann said confidence in the forecast is lower than normal for Halloween night. There is a chance of the rain clearing from the east and south, but there could be more showers. Lowest temperatures will be between 4 and 7C.
