Showers to come throughout October Bank Holiday weekend with temperatures dipping

Spells of sunshine will develop today along with a few showers, most frequent in Ulster.

Cloud will increase through the morning and afternoon with more widespread showers spreading from the northwest.

Today’s highest temperatures will be between 9 to 12 degrees.

Early tonight, showers will become isolated with clear spells for many.

Cloud will build from the Atlantic later in the night with patches of light rain and drizzle developing over the western half of the country by morning.

This evening’s lowest temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds.

Today’s News in 90 Seconds – Saturday, October 25

Tomorrow morning will be dull, damp and breezy as outbreaks of rain and drizzle spread from the west.

During the late afternoon and evening, rain will become confined to Munster and south Leinster with bright spells and isolated showers developing elsewhere. Highest temperatures will sit in the low teens.

Sunday evening will be cloudy in Munster and Connacht with isolated patches of rain and drizzle. There will be clear spells elsewhere with isolated showers. Lowest temperatures will dip from 7 to 11 degrees.

The Bank Holiday Monday will have a dry start for much of the country with sunny spells.

However, patchy rain and drizzle in the west and southwest will spread northeastwards across the country through the morning and afternoon.

There will be temperatures of between 11 to 15 degrees.

The evening will bring clouds with rain and drizzle at first but rain will clear to the southeast overnight.

Clear spells will then follow with isolated showers. Lowest temperatures will drop between 7 to 10 degrees.

Tuesday will be a breezy but bright and mostly dry day with scattered showers and spells of sunshine.

Temperatures will continue in the low teens with showers turning more frequent in the evening. There will also be a slight chance of hail.

The evening will see temperatures drop to 4 to 8 degrees.

It is expected Wednesday will see scattered early on to leave plenty of dry weather and spells of sunshine.

Temperatures will range from 8 to 12 degrees.
