An academic who has been outspoken in his opposition to assisted suicide on social media has accused the University of Sunderland of making “veiled” threats to him and of a “Kafkaesque” attack on free speech. 

And his case is now being championed by the Committee for Academic Freedom who seek to protect free inquiry, support scholars at risk, and restore intellectual openness to UK higher education.
