Jakarta, IO – The extreme weather, including a thunderstorm that hit the Midwest region of the United States on Monday (June 27), couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the Kopi Good Day DBL Indonesia All-Star 2026 squad. Although the training facility at Chicago Hope Academy experienced a power outage due to the storm, Indonesia’s top student-athletes continued their training session with world-class agility coach, Micah Lancaster.
The storm caused a complete power outage in the training area. The usually bright field was dim, requiring only emergency lighting. This did not change the training schedule. For nearly three hours, the 24 DBL Indonesia All-Star players continued to follow Micah Lancaster’s instructions with high intensity.
Madya Firman Anugerahadi, the DBL Academy coach who accompanied the group in the United States, said the situation actually became a mental test for the players. “I was accompanying the DBL All-Star players to practice with Micah Lancaster at Chicago Hope Academy. However, because it was raining in America, the court was experiencing a power outage. We hope this doesn’t dampen the kids’ enthusiasm for training,” said Middle Coach Firman.
Amidst the limited lighting, Micah Lancaster adjusted his training methods. The focus of the training was directed at strengthening footwork, body balance, and dribbling control using DrillMat. Through this method, the players honed their footwork, hip position, and optimal ball control.

Furthermore, Micah also utilized battery-powered reaction lights in red, green, and blue to practice decision-making. Each color provided a different instruction for the players, from drive shots to step-back shots to layups.
The players’ enthusiasm for continuing to practice despite the power outage was directly appreciated by Micah Lancaster. The coach, who has worked with several NBA stars, including Kyrie Irving, Dwyane Wade, and the late Kobe Bryant, shared the moment on his personal Instagram account. “A storm hit. The power went out and there was flooding. We practiced for three hours in the dark, and it was incredible. We worked hard, not waiting for the lights to come on,” Micah wrote.
Micah’s praise is proof that the spirit of the DBL Indonesia All-Star student-athletes remains strong, even when faced with less than ideal circumstances. This experience also served as part of the character-building process during the DBL Indonesia All-Star program in the United States. (*/rp)
