Jakarta, IO — Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Thai Defense Minister Adul Boonthumjaroen pay tribute to the Indonesian and Thai flags during a welcoming ceremony at the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta, Tuesday (Aug. 4).
Before holding a closed-door bilateral meeting at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Building, the two ministers delivered a joint press statement on strengthening defense cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand. During the briefing, Sjafrie expressed appreciation to the Royal Thai Army for the honor it bestowed on President Prabowo Subianto, describing it as a symbol of the close ties between the two countries. He also revealed plans for a joint exercise involving Indonesian and Thai special forces.

Meanwhile, Adul thanked the Indonesian Government for the warm welcome he received during his working visit to Jakarta on Aug. 3–4, and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to further strengthening defense cooperation with Indonesia. Following the press briefing, the two ministers held a bilateral meeting to discuss enhanced strategic cooperation in the defense sector. (IO/Faisal Ramadhan)
