Jakarta, IO – The 2026 Ordinary Congress of the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) officially concluded today. The Congress produced a number of strategic decisions that will serve as a foundation for the advancement of national football.
One crucial decision unanimously agreed upon at this highest forum was the determination of the date for the 2027 PSSI Ordinary Election Congress. Based on the 2025 edition of the PSSI Statutes, the Election Congress was originally scheduled for May 2027. However, after careful deliberation and consideration, the Congress agreed to postpone the date to July 2027.
“The decision to adjust the Election Congress schedule from May to July 2027 was taken to ensure organizational readiness and the continuity of the competition,” stated PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir. “This timing was chosen taking into account the organization’s readiness. As we know, we will also be holding provincial PSSI elections in October and November this year. This means we need time to consolidate with the provincial PSSI for our future football programs,” added Erick Thohir in a press conference after the event at the Fairmont Hotel Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, August 3.

Erick explained that this adjustment also takes into account the work stages of the Election Committee as well as the national and international football agenda, so that the entire election process can proceed effectively, transparently, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
“Furthermore, all league competitions also end in June, so the 2027 Ordinary Election Congress will be held in July 2027,” Erick concluded. (rp)
