YSRCP President and Ex-Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced a padayatra to be commenced in September-October 2027. Jagan on Wednesday while addressing party workers of Parchur constituency said that a padayatra will be undertaken to mark the 29th anniversary of formation of YSRCP and will help in garnering strength at grassroots level. The chief minister said that the padayatra will coincide with the elections to the state assembly which are likely to be held in 2029.
He said that he has already led several padayatras in his political career including that of ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ in 2017 which turned out to be a huge success and helped the party connect with common people. Jagan asserted that the 2017 march had traversed more than 3,600 km covering 13 districts and while addressing around two crore people, farmers, women, youth, government employees and social groups he took note of the problems faced by people and also campaigned for various welfare schemes of the government under the ‘Navaratnalu’ YSRCP.
It was after the praja sankalpa yatra that the YSRCP was able to win the 2019 assembly polls with 151 seats out of 175 and Jagan was elected as the chief minister.
