World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner clinched the Wimbledon men’s singles title for the second consecutive time on Centre Court at the 2026 Championships. Frustrated by this, Zverev slammed his racket onto the court. Sinner went on to win the third set, taking a 2-1 lead in the match. In the fourth set, Sinner broke Zverev’s serve to take a 4-3 lead. He did not squander the opportunity thereafter, displaying superb tennis to clinch the match. As victory was secured, the 24-year-old Sinner collapsed onto the grass in delight, celebrating his second consecutive Wimbledon title.

Sinner and Zverev have been among the most successful players on the ATP Tour during the 2026 season. Zverev has posted a record of 44 wins and 10 losses this year, while Sinner has recorded 43 wins and just 3 losses. Sinner had a challenging start to the tournament; he was pushed to five sets in the opening round but steadily raised his game thereafter. He reached the final in spectacular fashion by defeating the 7 time champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets—6-4, 6-4, 6-4—in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Zverev appeared highly aggressive throughout the tournament. Relying on his powerful serve and precise groundstrokes, he defeated a succession of strong opponents. He advanced to the title clash after beating Britain’s wildcard entrant Arthur Fery in straight sets in the semi-final.
