Image Used For Representational Purpose Only NEW DELHI: A bomb threat email sent to the office of Delhi assembly speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday warned that the assembly building and a Delhi metro station would be blown up, officials said. According to police sources, the first threat arrived at the Assembly’s official email address at 7.28 am, followed by a second email directed to the Speaker at 7.49 am — just twenty-one minutes later. Both messages claimed that a bomb would explode at the Delhi assembly at 1.11 pm, and at a Delhi Metro station at 9.11 pm. The emails also made references to the Khalistan Referendum. A sniffer dog squad was later deployed at the Delhi Assembly complex as part of intensified security checks following the threat. Authorities confirmed that the emails were sent from a Gmail account, and security personnel conducted thorough searches of the premises. No explosive devices were reported to have been found. The message also named several high-profile leaders, including , Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, external affairs minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, chief minister Rekha Gupta and minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Lt governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.“AS check of Vidhansabha has been conducted by BDTs of Security and North District. Nothing suspicious found so far. Necessary Police arrangements are in place”, said DCP (north) Raja Banthia.
