According to the Dehradun Meteorological Centre, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Nainital districts. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and spells of extremely intense rainfall in isolated areas of these districts. An orange alert has been issued for these districts.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate and District Disaster Management Authority, Dehradun, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in the district, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some locations. The administration has taken this precautionary measure in view of the potential danger. In view of this all schools from class I to XII and anganwadi centres in the district have been ordered to remain closed on August 14, 2026.
Administration on alert mode
The order issued by the Office of the District Magistrate/District Disaster Management Authority, Dehradun, states that according to forecasts from the Meteorological Department and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), heavy rainfall is expected in Dehradun district over the next 24 hours.
