Vishwaksen ventures into the dark territory of slasher cinema with CULT. Written and directed by Vishwaksen, who also plays the lead role, the film is produced by Sandeep Kakarala under the Tarak Cinemas banner.

The film’s teaser and trailer received a good response. With the film set to hit theatres tomorrow, the makers have released a new trailer.

The release trailer builds its narrative around DSP Sankalp Nayak. The character is shown taking a firm stand against locals in Goa who trouble outsiders, especially Telugu people. Determined to protect them, he moves to Goa.

Vishwaksen brings considerable aggression and intensity to the character, with action sequences and violent encounters dominating the trailer.

Interestingly, the slasher portions adopt a stylised visual approach, creating a distinctive presentation instead of relying entirely on disturbing imagery.

Cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan captures the chaos through striking visuals, complemented by Ravi Basrur’s electrifying background score.

Vishwaksen’s decision to take on the responsibilities of actor, writer and director reflects his ambition to explore unconventional storytelling.

The release trailer promises a kick-ass slasher, offering a more focused introduction to the central character while retaining the mystery surrounding the film’s violent events.
