The weather in Uttarakhand is once again expected to change. Clouds are covering the mountains and plains, and light to moderate rain is recorded in many areas.

With the activation of a fresh western disturbance, heavy rain, hailstorms, and snowfall in the higher reaches of the state are expected over the next two days (October 6 and 7). Temperatures are also expected to drop.

Orange alert issued

Dehradun and surrounding areas remained sunny throughout the day on Sunday, although some areas became cloudy in the afternoon. Light rain was also reported from several locations in the mountains.

The Meteorological Center, Dehradun has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/ Gusty wind (40-50 Kmph)/Hail is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Haridwar districts of Uttarakhand on October 6, 2025.
