The weather in Uttarakhand took a turn today (15th March 2026), with clouds blanketing the region from the mountains down to the plains. Meanwhile, a warning for gusty winds has been issued for mountainous regions as well as certain parts of the plains. However, the weather is expected to remain dry elsewhere. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for March 15, warning of strong winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in certain areas of the Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts.
Additionally, a ‘Yellow Alert’ warning of strong winds has been issued for parts of several districts, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, and Champawat. There is also a possibility of lightning and spells of heavy rain in isolated pockets of the mountainous regions, and hailstorms have also been predicted. According to meteorologists, the maximum temperatures could witness a drop of 3 to 5 degrees over the next four to five days.
Meanwhile, looking at Saturday’s data, the maximum daytime temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 31.3 degrees—five degrees above normal. The minimum nighttime temperature was recorded at 16.3 degrees—four degrees above normal. Similarly, in the mountainous region of Mukteshwar, the maximum temperature stood at 23.6 degrees—six degrees above normal—while the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.4 degrees—four degrees above normal. A similar trend was observed across other parts of the state as well.
