Uttarakhand reaches the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals for the fourth time

The 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season has brought success and hope for Uttarakhand. By defeating Assam by an innings and 42 runs in their last Elite Group C match, Uttarakhand secured the second position in the points tally. This has earned Uttarakhand a place in the Ranji Trophy knockout stage.

Uttarakhand Reaches Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Quarter-finals

The Uttarakhand Ranji team defeated Assam by an innings in their last league match, securing 7 points with a bonus point, bringing their total to 29 points and securing second place in the Elite Group C points table. Bengal’s victory over Haryana further eased Uttarakhand’s path. With this, the Uttarakhand team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

Uttarakhand Won 4 out of 7 Matches

Uttarakhand played a total of 7 league matches in the 2025-26 Ranji season. They won 4 matches, lost 2, and one match ended in a draw. Uttarakhand defeated Services, Haryana, Tripura, and Assam. They suffered defeats against Bengal and Gujarat. The match against Railways ended in a draw, but Uttarakhand secured 3 points for taking the first-innings lead.

Uttarakhand Reaches Knockouts for the Fourth Time

Previously, Uttarakhand had reached the Ranji Trophy knockouts only three times. In their very first season after receiving recognition from the BCCI in 2018-19, the Uttarakhand team qualified for the quarter-finals from the Plate Group without losing a single match. They were then defeated by Vidarbha, who went on to become the Ranji Trophy champions that year. Uttarakhand’s pacer Deepak Dhapola had a remarkable bowling performance in that season.

Subsequently, Uttarakhand reached the quarter-finals for the second time in the 2021-22 Ranji season. Mumbai ended their hopes of reaching the semi-finals on that occasion. In the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season, Uttarakhand reached the knockout stage for the third time. They were defeated by Karnataka in the quarter-finals. The 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons were not particularly successful for Uttarakhand. However, in the 2025-26 season, the state has once again made a spectacular entry into the quarter-finals.
