Prayagraj: Evaluation of answer sheets for UP Board High School and Intermediate exams will begin on March 18 at 250 centres across the state. Alongside the traditional process, the board is rolling out a pilot project in five districts to upload students’ marks online.Under the initiative, the system of uploading marks on the board’s portal will be implemented in Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, Varanasi and Gorakhpur. Board secretary Bhagwati Singh issued instructions to the district inspectors of schools (DIOS) and the deputy controllers or principals of evaluation centres in these districts to ensure that the marks are accurately uploaded on the board’s portal. During the evaluation period, sufficient computer operators will be appointed through outsourcing at the evaluation centres in these districts. These operators will work alongside trained teachers or assistants to ensure the marks mentioned in the award blanks are uploaded carefully and matched correctly with the original records. Officials were directed to maintain strict vigil while uploading the marks to avoid any possibility of errors. Deputy controllers and principals will personally supervise the process at the evaluation centres. If any discrepancy is detected after the marks are uploaded online, the officials concerned must immediately inform the additional secretary of the respective regional office through a formal letter. After the marks are uploaded, the OMR award blanks will be sealed carefully in designated envelopes to prevent damage. As per the board’s schedule, the sealed envelopes containing OMR award blanks and CC-16 forms will be submitted to the respective regional offices for further processing.
