Prayagraj: Two women labourers were killed and over a dozen others injured when a tractor trolley carrying more than two dozen workers overturned after hitting a divider near Surval Sahani on the Prayagraj-Rewa highway in the trans-Yamuna area on Friday morning, police said.The accident occurred around 10am when the labourers were on their way to Surval Sahani for paddy transplantation work.According to police, a motorcycle was travelling ahead of the tractor trolley. Most labourers were either seated or standing in the trolley. When the biker allegedly slipped on the road, the tractor driver swerved to avoid running him over and crashed into the divider. The impact caused the trolley to overturn, trapping many of the labourers underneath.On being alerted, police personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. A crane was pressed into service to lift the overturned trolley and free those trapped.The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
