Twin fires reported in Noida: Blaze engulfs 12th floor of high-rise, another at PG

Two separate fire incidents were reported from different parts of Noida on Friday morning, prompting a swift response from the fire department.

A major fire broke out at Ivy County, a residential society in Sector 75, where flames engulfed a flat on the 12th floor of a high-rise tower. Fire department officials rushed to the spot after receiving information about the blaze and launched firefighting operations.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Firefighters later brought the blaze under control, and no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, another fire was reported at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in E-3, Shatabdi Vihar, Sector 52, around 15 minutes away from the Sector 75 incident.

According to officials, the building houses a restaurant on the ground floor, while the upper floors are used as a PG facility. Two fire tenders were dispatched to the location after the blaze was reported.

Authorities are yet to ascertain the exact cause of either incident.

The incidents occurred even as the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police and Fire Department are carrying out a seven-day special inspection and awareness campaign across hotels and other establishments aimed at enhancing compliance with fire safety norms and strengthening preparedness against emergencies.

Hotel owners have been directed to ensure that firefighting equipment remains fully functional, fire safety norms are strictly followed, and emergency exits are kept open and free of any obstruction at all times to allow safe evacuation during emergencies.

Earlier this week, a massive fire broke out at a hotel in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, killing as many as 21 people, including foreign nationals. People lost their lives in the inferno at Flourish Stay bed and breakfast (B&B) in Malviya Nagar’s Hauz Rani area.

The fire broke out around 8.30 am on Wednesday and rapidly spread through the five-storey narrow structure, which reportedly had only a single entry and exit point, sealed windows, and a sensor-operated main door. At least 58 people were rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals.
