Tripura Cabinet approves Homeopathy, Ayurveda colleges, recruitment in 555 posts

Agartala: The Tripura Cabinet on Thursday approved proposals to create and fill 555 posts across multiple departments. It also cleared the establishment of new Ayurvedic and Homoeopathy medical colleges, Cabinet spokesman Sushanta Chowdhury said on Friday.

Chief Minister Manik Saha chaired the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Chowdhury said.

The Cabinet approved the setting up of an Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Tepania in Tripura. The college will have an intake capacity of 60 students. It will start from the 2026–27 academic session. Until permanent infrastructure is ready, a temporary campus will function from Chandrapur in the same district.

The council of ministers also cleared the establishment of a 60-seat Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital. The college will come up at the Netaji Subhas State Homoeo Hospital in Agartala, West Tripura district.

Referring to the existing facility at Rentars Colony, Chowdhury said the Cabinet approved the proposal to set up the Homoeopathy college at the state hospital premises.

Among other decisions, the Cabinet approved the appointment of 110 Veterinary Officers (Group B) under the Animal Resource Development Department. The recruitment will take place through the Tripura Public Service Commission.

The Cabinet also allowed the Health and Family Welfare Department to create and fill 100 posts of Multi-Purpose Workers. This includes 50 male and 50 female workers. The department will conduct recruitment through a competitive examination.

In another decision, the Cabinet approved filling eight Multi-Tasking Staff posts in the Directorate of Prosecution under the Home Department. The Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura will conduct the recruitment.

Under the Power Department, the government will fill seven Lower Division Clerk posts in the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency. In addition, the Cabinet cleared the creation and recruitment of 330 posts under the Tripura Information Technology Service cadre.

Altogether, the government approved recruitment for 555 posts across departments.

The Cabinet also approved an increase in house rent allowance for Tripura State Rifles personnel posted in New Delhi. It enhanced the allowance from 24 per cent to 27 per cent with effect from November 2024.

In addition, the Cabinet raised the boarding house stipend under the Tribal Welfare Department. The stipend will increase from Rs 80 to Rs 100 per day.
