The Meteorological Department has issued a three-day rainfall alert for Uttarakhand. According to the department, heavy rain is forecast for both the plains and mountainous regions of the state from today, June 5, through June 7. Alerts for thunderstorms and lightning strikes have also been issued for several areas due to the expected deterioration in weather conditions.

For today, June 5, there is a likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms in districts including Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Nainital. Strong winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour are also expected during this period.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in the Pauri, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Champawat districts, accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Rohit Thapliyal, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Centre in Dehradun, stated that light to moderate rainfall has been observed in several parts of Uttarakhand over the past 24 hours, with heavy rain occurring in one or two locations; light to moderate rain is expected in many areas today as well.

Similarly, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in several mountainous and plain districts of Uttarakhand on June 6. While rainfall activity is likely to subside between June 7 and June 9, light to moderate rain may still occur in most mountainous districts during this period.
