Upset over being reprimanded by parents for excessive mobile phone use, a minor boy ended his life at his home in Saidabad on Monday.

The boy had failed in his Class 10 examinations about a month ago and had since been spending considerable time playing games on his phone, informed Saidabad Inspector B. Chandra Mohan. On Monday, after his mother reprimanded him, the boy took the extreme step while his parents were away at work. He ended his life on the terrace of their residence.

One of his siblings noticed the incident and informed the parents. Based on the complaint, police booked a case and initiated an investigation.
