The Guwahati Half Marathon (GHM) is scheduled to return for its 16th edition on April 12, 2026, at Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium in Sarusajai, Guwahati. The event is organised by Techniche, the techno-management festival of IIT Guwahati, as part of its 28th edition.
The marathon has, over the years, drawn participants from across the Northeast and other regions. In its previous edition, it recorded the participation of nearly 4,000 runners, making it the largest student-organised marathon in the country.
Each edition of the marathon is centred around a specific social theme. This year’s theme, “Run for Quality Education,” focuses on raising awareness about access to equitable education. As part of the initiative, Team Techniche plans to organise donation drives in orphanages, distributing books and educational materials to children.
The event will include two race categories: the 21 km Glory Run, aimed at experienced runners, and the 6 km Spirit Run, which is open to participants of all fitness levels.
