Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa on Wednesday (November 5, 2025) said Tamil Nadu accounts for 42% of India’s auto component production.
“Tamil Nadu stands proudly as the automotive, electronics, and EV capital of India, further driving nearly 42% of the nation’s auto component production and setting benchmarks in quality, innovation, and inclusivity. Our State’s distributed growth model continues to inspire India’s progress, supported by robust policy interventions and a highly skilled workforce,” he said speaking at 19th edition of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Vyapar and the 2nd edition of Vyapar Tamil Nadu, centred around the theme: ‘From India’s Detroit to Its Digital Destiny’.
“Through initiatives like the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, we are training young engineers and diploma-holders even in the Japanese language to ensure they are industry-ready and globally employable,” Mr. Rajaa said.
“These efforts reflect our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering deeper collaborations between the government and industry. The Government of Tamil Nadu remains dedicated to supporting auto dealers, manufacturers, and component-makers alike, helping them go beyond what is possible and sustain Tamil Nadu’s position as the driving force of India’s industrial and digital future,” he said.
Mr. Rajaa also told the industry leaders to look at the option of forming an auto dealers cluster.
C.S. Vigneshwar, president, FADA, said: “Tamil Nadu has always been the pride of India’s auto retail, where enterprise meets ethics and innovation meets industry.”
