Student Unions Call for bandh, ABVP cadres stop college buses in Endada

Student unions have called for a statewide bandh in Andhra Pradesh, which has caused complete chaos in the state. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) cadres brought college buses to a halt in Vizag’s Endada area, leaving the students stranded on the roads. Further, the bandh will continue today as a part of protests against the students’ issues.

Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has called for a bandh due to problems in educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh. As a part of the bandh, the ABVP leaders have asked all colleges from intermediate to postgraduate levels to remain closed on August 5. It has further demanded the withdrawal of GO number 77 and sought an extension of fee reimbursement benefits to PG students.

Moreover, the ABVP has demanded the immediate release of ₹6,800 crore pending fee reimbursement by the government. Along with this, the leaders have also highlighted that the GO number 77 has become a stumbling block in higher education and the postgraduate students’ reimbursement should also be regularized.
