Imphal: Six candidates from Manipur have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, the results of which were declared on Friday.
Calvin Ginminlien Zou secured the highest position among candidates from the state with All India Rank (AIR) 134. The other successful candidates are Wahengbam Renudhar Singh (AIR 652), Th. Vapani John (AIR 800), Rahul Moirangthem (AIR 824), Liangousang Vualnam (AIR 868) and Ningthoujam Rishikant Singh (AIR 903).
The successful candidates represent different communities of the state, including the Meitei, Kuki-Zo and Naga.
Chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh congratulated the candidates and described their achievement as a matter of pride for the state. In a message posted on X, he said the success of the six aspirants highlighted the talent and determination of Manipur’s youth. He wished them the best as they begin their careers in public service and expressed hope that they would contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
The Civil Services Examination, conducted annually by the UPSC, is among the most competitive examinations in the country. Successful candidates are selected for key administrative services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others.
Manipur, which is home to 36 recognised communities, has consistently produced successful candidates in national-level competitive examinations, reflecting the state’s strong academic culture and growing interest in civil services.
