After unveiling the imaginative world created for the film, the makers of Sing Geetham have kick-started the musical promotions for legendary filmmaker Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao’s ambitious project.
Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the track hits instantly with its punchy bass, crisp drum patterns, and an upbeat rhythm that refuses to leave your head.
The song opens in a deserted, dusty street. Red chilies dry on a rooftop where Wamcee sleeps in a construction outfit, holding a yellow hard hat and gas mask.
Waking up with a heavy hangover, he hilariously complains about his hoarse, unusually deep voice. Amused by his own situation, he begins singing instead of speaking to express his happiness.
Soon, a young boy arrives, also singing, to reveal that the entire village is facing the same strange problem.
Though brief, the song is fun, quirky, experimental, and thoroughly entertaining. However, as revealed by the makers, they will be deleting the song, and won’t be available in the movie.
During the launch event, producer Nag Ashwin shared that the project was made out of deep respect for Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, apart from the team’s excitement for the unique concept.
“Singeetham made a fun film with a completely new kind of idea. He has always thought differently. Bringing his long-time dream to life is something our entire team worked hard to accomplish. He has been trying to make this film since before Pushpak. He even narrated it to Kamal Haasan back then, but it couldn’t materialize,” he said.
