The police have issued a traffic route diversion plan for the Shardiya Kanwar Mela. The traffic diversion will be effective from 8 a.m. on February 5th to 12 midnight on February 15th, 2026. During this period, heavy vehicle movement will be strictly prohibited on the Haridwar-Najibabad route. SSP Pramod Singh Dobal stated that all subordinates have been instructed to strictly enforce the route plan.
Alternative Route for Heavy Vehicles
- The route of private buses coming to Haridwar from Kotdwar has been kept unchanged.
- Heavy vehicles coming from SIDCUL, Dehradun, and Rishikesh and destined for Bijnor, Moradabad, or Nainital will be routed via Haridwar, Roorkee, and Muzaffarnagar. Return routes will also be via the same route.
- Vehicles connected to essential services, such as food items, petroleum products, gas, and medical supplies, will be allowed to travel from Haridwar to Najibabad, Moradabad, and Nainital from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Roadways buses going from Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar to Bijnor, Moradabad and Nainital will go to their destination via Ladpur via Canal Track.
- On the return journey, all buses coming to Haridwar from Bijnor and Najibabad will reach Haridwar via Bijnor, Ganga Barrage, Monty Tiraha (Meerapur), Muzaffarnagar.
