Vijayawada: RV College of Institutions, Bengaluru, Karnataka, emerged as the winner of the prestigious Temple Design Competition held as part of the two-day Sapta Sindhu 2026 – Amaravati Edition, which concluded at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, on Sunday.

The competition attracted enthusiastic participation from architecture students representing institutions across five southern States, showcasing innovative designs inspired by India’s rich temple architecture and traditional craftsmanship.

The winning team from RV College—Prajwal R, Yash S Bhandge, Pavitra Nouke and Priya KS—secured the first prize and a cash award of Rs 50,000 for their outstanding temple design. The second prize Rs 30,000 went to the team from Sri Venkateswara College of Architecture, Hyderabad, comprising Tanvi Kaleswar, Anusha Raghusri, G Srikar Reddy, P Agastin, Krish Singh and Ch Vaishvik. The third prize Rs 20,000 was awarded to the team from Nehru College of Architecture, Palakkad, Kerala, represented by Kurtham M Nair, Ajith MP, Fathima Sanabee and Aljio Julee.

In the Pallaki (Palanquin) Making Competition, the Government College of Architecture and Sculpture, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, won the first prize. The School of Planning and Architecture, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Hyderabad, secured the second prize, while the Acharya Nagarjuna University College of Architecture and Planning, Guntur, finished third.

In the Mural Art Competition, Sreejith Vellora claimed the first prize, followed by Shaik Raziya in second place and K Trinath Reddy in third. The Arch Design Competition saw Abburi Ratna Lakshmi and team win the first prize.

Visala K and team secured the second prize, while Bhavana Shanmukhi Ch. and team finished third. Rangoli competitions are held in two categories.
