According to the weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (Dehradun) on July 9, 2026, there is a likelihood of isolated very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and spells of intense to extremely intense rain in Champawat district on July 10, 2026.
In view of the ongoing rainfall in the district and prioritizing the safety of students, Shri Krishna Nath Goswami, Additional District Magistrate/Chief Executive Officer of the Disaster Management Authority, has issued orders declaring a one-day holiday on July 10, 2026 (Friday). This applies to all government, council-run, aided, and recognized private schools (Classes 1 to 12) as well as all Anganwadi centers within Champawat district.
Consequently, all such schools and Anganwadi centers in the district will remain closed on Friday.
He has directed that teachers, Anganwadi workers, and office staff must mark their attendance as usual, and teachers are to continue conducting classes via online modes.
The Additional District Magistrate has issued strict instructions to the Chief Education Officer and the District Programme Officer of Champawat to ensure 100% compliance with this order across all the aforementioned educational institutions and Anganwadi centers.
He stated that any non-compliance would result in necessary legal action being taken against the concerned parties in accordance with the rules.
