Ramnagar to host Ranji Trophy match for the first time

For the first time in Ramnagar’s history, a Ranji Trophy match is set to be held. Preparations for the match, scheduled to be held at the Kaushiki Cricket Ground in Mangalar, have been completed. Deepak Mehra, President of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, stated in a press conference in Mangalar village on Thursday that three Ranji Trophy matches will be played in Uttarakhand, with Ramnagar marking the start of the Ranji Trophy.

The first match will be played in Ramnagar from October 25th to 28th between Uttarakhand and Railways. The four-day 90-over match will consist of two innings each. The match will be played between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Both teams, along with referees and umpires sent by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, have arrived. The playing field is being prepared for match-readiness. He explained that the Ranji Trophy is the true hallmark of cricket.

The next matches will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Dehradun on November 16th between Uttarakhand and Gujarat, and on January 29th between Assam and Uttarakhand. Mehra announced that the 2026 IPL matches will also be held in Dehradun.
