Tadipatri (Anantapur district): Political tensions continued in Tadipatri when former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy staged a protest demanding immediate arrest of former MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy, his two sons and 24 supporters allegedly involved in an attempted murder case.
Prabhakar Reddy alleged that despite the registration of an attempt to murder case in connection with recent incidents, the authorities had not proceeded with the arrests. He insisted that law should be applied equally to all individuals, irrespective of political affiliation.
He urged police to act impartially and not succumb to any form of political pressure while carrying out their duties. Prabhakar Reddy warned that the agitation would continue until justice was delivered and the accused were taken into custody.
Police personnel were deployed at key locations in and around the protest venue to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure that the situation remained under control. No major disturbances were reported during the demonstration.
