People’s mantra ‘Revanth must go’, ‘KCR must return’, quips Harish

Gurrampodu (Nalgonda): Formerminister Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on the state government, saying that wherever one goes in the state, people are echoing the same slogan: “Revanth must go, KCR must return.” He alleged that farmers are being pushed into distress, as paddy procurement has not begun even after ten days at purchase centres.

Speaking as the chief guest at a BRS party workers’ meeting on Sunday at Gurrampode mandal headquarters in Nalgonda district, he criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of being preoccupied with appeasing Delhi rather than addressing farmers’ issues.

He also condemned the government’s handling of the SLBC tunnel accident, stating that even the bodies of eight deceased victims could not be retrieved, calling it a sign of administrative failure.

Harish Rao further alleged that in the nearly two-and-a-half years since the Congress government came to power, not a single promise has been fully implemented. He accused Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy of “looting Telangana’s wealth.”

He said Revanth had sworn before deities to implement farm loan waivers but failed to deliver, claiming that nearly 60% of farmers have not received loan waivers.

He added that schemes like Rythu Bharosa were not properly implemented, bonuses for paddy were denied, and crop insurance was neglected. “Not a single promise has been kept,” he said.

Expressing confidence, he stated that the BRS government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao would return to power. He alleged that Congress MLAs and ministers were indulging in corruption, knowing their tenure would be short, and warned that any ill-gotten wealth would be recovered once BRS returns to power.

He also accused ministers and MLAs in Nalgonda district of taking money from millers and exploiting farmers.

Harish Rao warned that there is growing public anger against the Congress government and that voters would teach them a lesson in the upcoming elections.

Several leaders, including former minister Srinivas Goud, MLC Kotireddy, and former MLAs Ravindra Kumar, Nomula Bhagath Yadav, Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, and Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, along with former ZP chairman Banda Narendra Reddy and former Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, attended the meeting.

Earlier, while en route to Gurrampode, Harish Rao briefly stopped at Kondamallepally, where party workers welcomed him warmly at the milk centre guest house with shawls and bouquets before he proceeded to the meeting venue.
