The officials from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have seized a large quantity of hydroponic cannabis at Shamshabad Airport. The contraband, weighing 8.705 kilograms, was confiscated from two passengers arriving from Bangkok.
During inspection, officials found 24 suspicious packets concealed within the luggage of the travellers. The cannabis was cleverly hidden inside potato chip packets, water bottles, and other containers to evade detection.
The estimated value of the seized cannabis is Rs 3.05 crore. Authorities confirmed that both individuals involved have been arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt.
