In view of the ‘Orange Alert’ issued by the India Meteorological Department (Dehradun) for July 21, the district administration has taken precautionary measures and declared a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centers in Bageshwar district on Tuesday, July 21 2026.
District Magistrate Apoorva Pandey stated in the issued order that the Meteorological Department has forecast the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas of the district, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, as well as spells of extremely intense rainfall.

Prioritizing the safety of students, all government, semi-government, and private schools (Classes 1 to 12) and Anganwadi centers will remain closed on Tuesday, July 21.
The District Magistrate has directed the Chief Education Officer and the District Programme Officer to ensure strict compliance with the order.
She clarified that any violation of the order would attract action against the concerned parties in accordance with the rules.
The district administration has also appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the inclement weather and to adhere to the advisories issued by the administration.
