Dimapur: Nagaland is expected to experience unstable weather conditions characterised by scattered thunderstorms, lightning activity, and intermittent rainfall, with localized heavy rainfall in a few districts until March 15.

Several districts of the state are likely to experience localized thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall.

The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), in its weather update, said the districts likely to be affected include Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Peren, and Phek.

Isolated rainfall is expected at a few locations, particularly in the districts of Longleng, Mokokchung, and Wokha.

According to the update, intermittent light to moderate rainfall may also occur in districts such as Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang, Peren, and Noklak during the same period.

The NSDMA urged residents and concerned authorities to remain cautious and stay updated with weather advisories during this period.

It also advised the public to exercise caution to avoid any eventualities.

The NSDMA directed all district disaster management authorities and other line departments to remain on high alert to safeguard lives and property during this season.
