Bengaluru North Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar conducted a surprise inspection at the BSNL centre in Bhuvanagiri Park, Banaswadi, on Sunday to check staff attendance.

During the visit, the commissioner found that of the 48 pourakarmikas, 15 were absent. While supervisor K. Suresh Kumar did not know the names of the people working under him, and had incorrectly marked six workers as absent despite their presence, one of the supervisors, Balaji, was absent. The commissioner pulled up Mr. Suresh for failing to identify his team members and directed officials to take disciplinary action against both supervisors.

Mr. Kumar said efforts to improve cleanliness and remove garbage black spots are being intensified across wards and he along with other officials are personally monitoring the operations.
