New State body elected for outsourcing employees assn

Vijayawada: The State general body meeting of the State Government Outsourcing Employees Association was held here under the chairmanship of K Suman. During the meeting, elections to the State Committee were held, in which Ganta Sampath Kumar (Directorate of Government Examinations) was elected President, E Mohan Rao (GAD Protocol Department) as general secretary, and Ch Ramana Murthy (Vijayawada Municipal Corporation) as treasurer. K Suman was elected as honorary president, along with 13 other members to the State Executive Committee.

The election results were announced by Election Officer TV Phani Perraju, who is also the State President of the AP Cooperative Service Association and Associate Chairman of AP JAC Amaravati.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, AP JAC Amaravati chairman Boppraju Venkateswarlu said outsourcing employees have been working with dedication and discipline in various government departments for years despite low wages. He demanded that the retirement age be immediately increased to 62 years and job security be ensured. He also urged the government to implement an HR policy for outsourcing employees similar to that provided earlier to SERP and MEPMA staff.

The leaders further demanded that outsourcing employees working under private agencies in departments such as APSRTC, Forest, Medical and Health, and Gurukuls be brought under APCOS or paid directly by the respective departments to eliminate exploitation.
