NATA leader Raghava Reddy Ghosala appears to be facing serious legal trouble in the United States, with federal court documents showing that a criminal case has been filed against him in the Northern District of California, San Jose Division.
According to the court records, the case is listed as United States of America v. Raghava Reddy Ghosala, under case number 5:26-cr-00212-NW. The matter was filed on May 5, 2026.
The documents state that Ghosala has been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States. These are serious federal charges.
Another important development is that prosecutors have informed the court that Ghosala’s case is related to an earlier criminal case involving Venkateswara Kalluri. In that case, Kalluri was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States.
According to the notice filed by the U.S. Attorney’s office, both cases allegedly involve the same general conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
The document states that the alleged conspiracy began no later than January 2018 and continued through around January 2024.
The prosecution also informed the court that the cases involve the same people and the same events and occurrences.
It further said that assigning the cases to a single judge would help conserve judicial resources and avoid duplication of work, especially during sentencing-related proceedings.
Ghosala is scheduled to make his next formal court appearance on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
The upcoming court appearance has now triggered intense discussion in Telugu community circles.
Some sources claim that Ghosala could face the possibility of arrest depending on the court developments. However, others say that a settlement or legal resolution may have already been worked out.
So far, there is no official confirmation on either claim.
The court documents available at this stage only confirm the filing of the criminal case, the charges mentioned, and the connection made by prosecutors with the earlier Kalluri case.
Since Ghosala is associated with NATA, the matter has drawn attention among Telugu community members in the U.S. Any legal development involving a prominent community figure is naturally being watched closely.
For now, all eyes are on the June 18 court appearance.
The next hearing may provide more clarity on whether the case will move forward seriously or whether there will be any resolution through the legal process.
