Dimapur: Nagaland DGP Rupin Sharma on Friday urged all ministerial staff of the state to identify and address the root causes of challenges to improve the functioning of the state government.

Addressing the 5th biennial conference-cum-50th general meeting of the Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA) at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima as the chief guest, Sharma called upon ministerial staff to familiarise themselves with the rules and procedures governing government service, particularly the Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules.

Describing knowledge of government rules and regulations as a fundamental responsibility of ministerial staff, he asked them to uphold integrity and make responsible decisions throughout their careers.

The state police chief stressed the importance of maintaining a well-organised and systematic file management system in government offices.

He observed that the younger generation of employees recruited through public service examinations possesses the knowledge and capability to make valuable contributions to the ministerial establishment of various directorates.

At the same time, he said, the experience and wisdom of senior staff, combined with the enthusiasm and fresh perspectives of younger employees, would strengthen the functioning of government offices.

Delivering the exhortation, the First Administrative Officer of the Nagaland Public Works Department, Kroneicho Naki, described ministerial staff as the backbone of the government.

He called upon them to carry out their duties with integrity, discipline and accountability.

He also exhorted them to remain committed to public service and strive to leave behind a legacy of dedication, professionalism and faithful service.
