The VII Additional District and Sessions Court judge in Ongole sentenced an accused in a murder case to undergo life imprisonment and levied a fine of ₹1,000.
As per court orders, Kadiyam Hanumantha Rao (80) had picked up a quarrel with Sangana Subba Reddy (45), a watchman at a government wine shop at Madduluru Road in Kondapi village during the night of April 13, 2023. The next day morning, Subba Reddy was found dead in front of the wine shop with injuries on his neck.
Based on a complaint given by the deceased person’s wife Sangana Suseela, the Kondapi police registered a case under Section 302 of IPC, and arrested the accused after thorough investigation. When the case came for the final hearing on Friday, the VII Additional District and Sessions Court judge T. Raja Venkatadri pronounced the verdict, confirming the life sentence and fine.
