Prayagraj: A joint team of Special Task Force (STF) and Kaushambi police on Tuesday arrested a gangster wanted in connection with the RO/ARO exam paper leak case. The RO/ARO Prelims, held on Feb 11, 2024, was cancelled after its question paper surfaced on social media hours before the exam.Ayush Pandey, a resident of Mau, was carrying a Rs 1 lakh cash reward on his head.He was booked under sections 2 and 3 of the Gangster Act with Manjhanpur police of Kaushambi district, SP (Kaushambi) Rajesh Kumar told TOI.“Acting on a specific tip-off, a joint team of Manjhanpur police and STF arrested Pandey near Sugar Mill Road while planning to escape.”He added that police had already arrested 18 members of the racket involved in the RO/ARO and other competitive exams leak case, and Pandey was the lone gangster evading police action.The arrested gangster told police that he was an active member of the racket involved in competitive exams leak and extorting a handsome amount from aspirants. He was also wanted by police in connection with two criminal cases.
