Law & order has collapsed under coalition rule, alleges YSRCP

Nandyal: Leaders and cadre of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staged a spirited protest at Bommala Satram Centre in Nandyal on Tuesday, demanding immediate, concrete measures to curb the rising incidents of violence against women in Andhra Pradesh.

The party leaders submitted a formal memorandum near the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar and expressed grave concern over the safety of women and young girls across the state.

They alleged that incidents of crimes against women—including physical assaults, sexual offences, and murders—have witnessed a sharp spike since the coalition government assumed office.

Addressing the gathering, MLC Mohammed Issac Basha, State Women’s Wing General Secretary Shashikala Reddy, Assembly Observer Suryanarayana Reddy, District Women’s Wing In-charge Gajula Swetha Reddy, and District President Sujathamma criticized the state administration over law and order lapses.

The YSRCP leaders alleged that police are delaying the registration of cases and execution of timely investigations into crimes against women. They claimed that political influence is actively preventing prompt action against offenders, thereby compromising victim safety.

Demanding impartial investigations and stringent punishment for culprits, the leaders emphasized that protecting the dignity and security of women must remain a non-negotiable priority above political considerations.

A large number of women activists and party workers participated in the demonstration. The leadership urged the government to take immediate and effective steps to deliver swift justice to victims and bolster women’s security mechanisms across

all districts.
