Prayagraj: The Kinnar Akhara continues to expand from the sacred sands of Tirthraj Prayagraj. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Prof Swami Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi Maharaj of the Kinnar Akhara on Friday consecrated the 21 ‘kanthi chelas’ (disciples), 11 mahants, six shri mahants and seven mahamandaleshwars from different states. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Devanshi from Odisha was appointed as the president of Vaishnava Akhara.

Tripathi cautioned all the office-bearers to refrain from making reels (short videos) and focus on promoting and spreading Sanatan Dharm so that their purpose is fulfilled.Tripathi said Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kalyaninanda Giri is the president of the Kinnar Akhara in Uttar Pradesh, while Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kankeshwari Nand Giri of Gorakhpur is the secretary.Mahamandaleshwar Swami Rajeshwari Nand Giri (Roz Mausi) has been appointed as the president of Jharkhand, while Mahamandaleshwar Swami Amarjeet Nand Giri as the secretary.The Kinnar Akhara also appointed Paronand Giri from Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh), Nehanand Giri from Maharashtra, Devanshi Nand Giri (Raksha Nand Giri) from Odisha, Amarjeet Nand Giri from Ranchi, Shalunand Giri from Delhi, and Sakshinanda Giri from Jabalpur as mahamandaleshwars. Twenty-one people, including Radhikanand Giri, Kinjal, Kamakshi Nand Giri, Sunil Nand Giri, and Shubham Nand Giri, were made ‘kanthi chelas’, and 11 were appointed as mahants (abbots).Earlier, the acharyas (spiritual leaders) conducted various religious ceremonies for all the new office-bearers at the Sangam, including ‘pind daan’ and ‘virja daan’.
