While there was a slight dip in footfalls at the Sri Kanaka Durga temple until evening compared to the same time the previous day, the numbers picked up later in the night. According to temple officials, the temple recorded 1,10,202 footfalls by 10 p.m. on Saturday. Continuing the tradition, Dwaraka Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam Executive Officer N.V.S.N. Murthy presented silk clothes and a saree to Goddess Kanaka Durga, who was adorned as Lalitha Tripurasundari Devi on Saturday. He also announced that the Brahmotsavams at Dwaraka Tirumala would be held from October 2 to 10.
Earlier in the day, Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna visited the temple, while MLC A. Rajendra Prasad expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for devotees.
In the evening, the Archaka Sabha was held with the chanting of Vedic hymns. Around 100 priests from prominent temples across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana took part in the annual event, which has been organised since 2009.
