Earlier, India had started the day 9 runs ahead without any loss, but Team India was all out for 201 runs in 83.5 overs in the first innings. Earlier, South Africa had scored 489 runs in the first innings. Thus the visitors have put themselves in a great position for a clean sweep Test series win in India.
Day 3: First Session
India resumed their innings from the second day’s score of 9/0. Yashasvi Jaiswal (7) and KL Rahul (2) steadied the innings, adding 65 runs for the first wicket. India suffered their first loss in the form of KL Rahul (22) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58 runs in 97 balls with 7 fours and 1 six). Sai Sudarshan then departed for 15 and Dhruv Jurel for 0. Simon Harmer took 2 wickets, while Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj each took 1 wicket.
Day 3: Second Session
India scored 174 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 67 overs in the second session of the third day. India lost 3 wickets for 72 runs in this session. Rishabh Pant (7), Ravindra Jadeja (6), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (10) were dismissed in the second session. Washington Sundar also contributed 48 runs off 92 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. KL Rahul contributed 22 runs, Sai Sudharshan 15 runs, and Kuldeep Yadav 19 runs. Marco Jansen took 6 wickets and Simon Harmer took 3 wickets for South Africa.
