Six buildings were reportedly completely damaged due to debris falling from incessant rains in Kuntri Lagaphali ward of Nandanagar Nagar Panchayat in Chamoli district. Seven people are missing and two have been rescued.
Administrative officials and relief and rescue teams immediately reached the spot and the search for the missing people is underway.
District Magistrate arrived at the scene.
District Magistrate Dr. Sandeep Tiwari stated that a rescue operation is underway and the search for missing people is ongoing. He also reported damage to five buildings in Dhurma village of Nandanagar tehsil due to heavy rains. There have been no reported casualties. The Moksha River is still waterlogged.

Heavy Rain Alert Issued
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for several districts, including Dehradun, Rishikesh, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, and Haridwar. The administration has been put on alert. Sensitive areas are being monitored. People living near the river banks are being urged to move to safer locations.
