Prayagraj: Allahabad High Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the matter wherein an Archaeological Survey of India survey has been sought for Gyanvapi mosque’s wuzukhana (ablution) area, excluding the structure described by the Hindu side as a shivling and the Muslim side as a fountain.Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal will next hear the civil revision petition filed by Rakhi Singh, one of the plaintiffs before a Varanasi court, on Oct 7. The court passed this order after one of the counsels sent his a slip seeking adjournment on ground of illness and inability to attend court proceedings.The court observed “Passed over on illness slip of Shri Syed Ahmed Faizan, counsel for the respondent. List this matter for 2 pm, Oct 7, 2025.”The revision petition challenges a Varanasi district judge’s order of Oct 2023. The Varanasi district judge’s order had refused to direct ASI to survey the wuzukhana area, except for the structure the Hindu side calls shivling and Muslims claim is a fountain.
